| Can someone tell me who chooses who to invite to the swearing in of the new administration? Seems to me it would be a community affair-whoever would want to go!! I know people who got invitations and wonder why!!! |

That's interesting. The special invites must be for the VIP. Yes, generally the public is invited to attend. Remember the last time? It was going to be so big, they had to rent the Baptist Church annex.
Who is the guest of honor? Who will swear them in? Please...not Joe Manchin or Nick Rahall...
Who will be making all of the little bite-size morsels and party food? Shonet's? I don't think the people who did it before will do it this time round. For one thing, that's a lot of cookies. |

Susan, it will be at the Baptist Church with Sheriff Tom McComas-I can't fiqure them having it in midday when some have to work for a living. I think it's supposed to be for the public, but I guess the mayor didn't want all his enemies-just some.
There should be about twenty-five or thirty show up for meaness-couldn't do anything about. Of course, I wouldn't want to be there!!!!! |

| I don't know when or where the swearing in will be held and I didn't get an invitation. Since I'm new here I'll find something else to do. |

| There's something ironic about the Sheriff, whose duty it is to uphold the law, swearing in a scoundrel or two. I didn't get an invite either. I think most people go to these things for the free food. |

It's over. Don't feel bad. None of the defeated councilmen nor their families were there either, because they didn't get invitations. I heard about it yesterday. It was posted on the door at city hall, but if you pay your utilities bill electronically, you wouldn't see it. If you take the Charleston papers, you would have missed the ads in the Herald Disgrace. And, I guess no one thought to post it on the board at Wendy's. People who did not get personal invitations are offended.  They say if the people from the court house hadn't come, there wouldn't have been much of a turnout, except for the elected officials and their respective families. If I didn't have to work, i would have gone for the food. |
