| I would like everyone to know how much the Milton Am. Ladies Aux. does for the men and women at the Veteran's Home. These ladies go "above and beyond" to let our veterans know they are appreciated. Veterans who are able are transported to the Legion for a special Veteran's Day dinner. Each guest is given a gift and, usually, there is Karaoke after dinner and the men thoroughly enjoy participating. Recently, the women prepared several pots of homemade vegetable soup which they took to the home and served. The men were so appreciative and asked for seconds and thirds. Afterwards, they played BINGO and were given small monetary prizes. They like having a little extra pocket money of their own. I know Creative Quilters go to the home and mend clothing and work on lap quilts for those who are not able to leave the facility. These two groups could probably use support providing these services to our veterans. If you are able to help them with time, gifts, money, etc., I can assure you that your contribution goes to the intended recipients...our veterans. A heartfelt thanks to the women in Milton who volunteer their time to such a worthy endeavor. |

| I was asked to announce that the Highlanders Bagpipers will be performing at the Milton American Legion on St. Patrick's Day, March 17 at 6 p.m. They usually play a medly of Irish tunes like O' Danny Boy, etc. They are outstanding performers. Everyone is invited. Please go out and support the folks at the legion who work so hard to do nice things for the community. |
